Chicago Heights School District 170 has announced plans to moderate the effect of the COVID-19 virus in its schools. "To ensure our students' and staff's health and safety and comply with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) recommendations, effective Monday, November 16, 2020, all teachers, professional staff, and paraprofessionals will work from home until further notice," said Superintendent Tom Amadio. "The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all, but the inherent strength of the CHSD170 family keeps us moving forward in our devoted efforts to serve our students in the best way possible." Amadio said that building administrators and administrative assistants would report to their schools each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday to continue essential tasks at the building level. Parents having questions about the remote learning protocol should contact their child's school principal. "As always, I ask the District 170 family and the communities we serve to stay safe and adhere to guidelines established by the national, state, and county departments of public health," Amadio concluded. "Together, we will endure and overcome the hardships and restrictions wrought by the COVID-19 virus." Amadio dijo que los administradores del edificio y los asistentes administrativos se reportarían a sus escuelas cada lunes, martes y jueves para continuar con las tareas esenciales a nivel del edificio. Los padres que tengan preguntas sobre el protocolo de aprendizaje remoto deben comunicarse con el director de la escuela de su hijo.
