ATLANTA, GA — Two people were jailed recently following a high-speed chase in a stolen car in northwest Atlanta, police said. According to the Atlanta Police Department, an officer noticed a stolen black Dodge Charger last Wednesday in Northwest Atlanta with two people inside. Officers said they tried to pull the car over, but the driver and passenger fled. That's when they requested the help of the Air Unit (Phoenix), which was able to track the location of the fleeing car. "Phoenix maintained surveillance of the suspect vehicle and observed the drivers leave the stolen vehicle at 2805 Macon Drive," police said in a news release. From there, police said the two men ran on foot to a nearby apartment complex and tossed several items into the woods, which included a stolen handgun, marijuana and oxycodone. Phoenix was able to relay the actions of the suspects to officers on the ground who quickly apprehended both suspects and recovered the abandoned property with the assistance of K9. According to police, Curtis Bryant, 32, and Marshaun Boyd, 38, were taken to jail and charged accordingly. "We will continue to send a message to the criminally minded that if you commit a crime in our city, we will track you down and hold you accountable," police said. Video of police chase:
