Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rec Center, the ROC and Westwood Hills Nature Center remain closed to the public until further notice. Picnic shelters are closed until further notice; no reservations will be taken at this time. Basketball rims have been removed from full courts to discourage large gatherings of players. The outdoor skate park continues to be closed as do playground structures. Tennis and pickleball nets have not yet been installed this spring, in keeping with measures to ensure physical distancing and to limit the numbers of people gathering in any one place.
Summer events postponed, canceled Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following events have been postponed or canceled. Visit the things to do page for more information closer to the date of these events.
July 4 fireworks have been postponed to Sunday, Sept. 6, at Aquila Park. The grand opening of the new interpretive center at Westwood Hills Nature Center has been postponed to Sunday, Sept. 13. Construction remains on schedule with plans for staff to take possession of the building in May; it may open to the public earlier than Sept. 13. Parktacular has been canceled.
