During this global pandemic, Andrew Chong UIUC student brushed his strengths and worked to transform his weaknesses into his greatest strengths.Andrew Chong UIUC student was born in 1998 in Seoul, Korea. His parents moved to the States when he was just a few months old. Though he grew up in Silicon Valley, he later moved to Shanghai, China when Andrew Chong UIUC student’s father had an expat assignment. During his time in Shanghai, Andrew Chong UIUC student experienced diverse cultures at British International School; and then an American middle school. While living in China, Andrew Chong UIUC student also flourished his interests in cello and tennis — two of his most favorite hobbies to this day.Andrew Chong UIUC student along with the entire student community had to endure a great loss from an academic standpoint in the face of the global pandemic. Nevertheless, Andrew Chong UIUC student conjured himself to ensure a certain level of productivity and development even during the global standstill while taking sufficient precautions for his health as well. Andrew Chong UIUC student believes in not limiting education to the four walls of the classroom. He implores himself to adapt to the new normal through transmuting the knowledge from several unrecognized sources of education. He advocates a sense of self-study and self-evaluation wherein you can not only enhance an understanding of your skillsets but also explore opportunities for improvement.
