Andrew Chong UIUC student is also a Statistics Ambassador and helps the incoming freshmen with the initiation process at the University and represents the departments in various public outreach events. He also conducts mathematics research and utilizes game theory concepts for pre-college educational outreach material. However, the lockdown had put a temporary closure on these activities with the shutting down of colleges and universities. Being a scholarship holder from Hye-Reong Kim Memorial Foundation, he strongly believes in continuing his studies even at times of uncertainty. As a leader of learning, he finds education as a ceaseless process that provides opportunities to invest his energy in learning something new every day.During this global pandemic, Andrew Chong UIUC student brushed his strengths and worked to transform his weaknesses into his greatest strengths. Since his childhood, he was a tennis player. Over time, he developed a deeper understanding of the productivity hidden in his failures and enriched his knowledge about the sport. That being said, he also used the global standstill to revisit and revise the lessons he previously learned from his failures and chalked new ways and strategies to succeed in the upcoming tournaments. To date, Andrew Chong UIUC student has participated in many tournaments including, Indiana and Wisconsin at Uni Notre Dame and Uni Wisconsin Whitewater, respectively. While pursuing the solo sport as his career, he reshapes his personality with a piece of profound knowledge about tennis aligned with his experiences of defeat and victory.
