HVAC Commercial Install Apprentice/Helper (Eugene / Springfield) © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap compensation: DOQ $15 - $20 with $1000 sign on bonus employment type: full-time Job Title: Commercial Install Apprentice/Helper Typical Work Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday (occasional evenings, weekends and staggered shifts when needed) Position Summary: Complete installation of new heating and cooling systems, and relocation of existing systems. Run low-voltage wiring and refrigerant piping. Ensure system is running properly before completing job. Required Qualifications: • Valid driver license and clean driving record, insurable by company insurance • Desire to advance in career through apprenticeship program and on-the-job training • Ability to work well independently or as a team • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds consistent with trade practice • Ability to work out of town when necessary • Ability to work outside in a wide range of temperatures • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen • Must be able to work off ladders & lifts Education and Experience: • Minimum High School diploma, GED or equivalent • Previous HVAC experience in a commercial application is preferred • Enrollment in apprenticeship program or technical/trade school is preferred • Previous experience reading blue prints is preferred • Basic written and verbal English language communication skills Essential functions and responsibilities: • Operate company vehicle as needed • Work well with customers, co-workers and other sub-contractors • Follow instructions from supervisor and journeyman, and carry out in a timely manner • Installation of ductwork in a neat & professional manner • Keep job site and company vehicle clean and organized • Attend continued professional HVAC training as scheduled by management • Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times Success factors/job competencies: • Maintain a regularly punctual attendance record, fill out daily time card accurately • Effectively communicate with co-workers and other sub-contractors • Adhere to company safety rules and regulations • Regular use of personal protective equipment • Come to work ready to work with proper tools and attire • Willingness to invest time in training seminars and classes Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
