Description
I have a beautiful long-haired tortoiseshell that needs a permanent no-dog home with an experienced owner without young kids.
Lyla is gorgeous and healthy. We have been fostering her for the last few months, but she needs a forever situation. We cannot keep her any longer, as it has disrupted our household because our current cat terrorizes her, so she stays in our kids bedroom currently.
She adores being pet and having company. She enjoys food and treats. She loves cat toys. And she is wonderful with a kitten we're also fostering, and with our oldest cat as well.
However, she does need a home experienced with cats and one without other pets, especially dogs. She is terrified of dogs. She also has some traits that will not make her a correct fit with an inexperienced home.
She is easily over-stimulated. She gets very excited when receiving loves and goes into hyper-drive, rubbing against your legs with increasing fervor. This causes her to become over-stimulated and will scratch. I simply stop petting her and walk away when she goes into hyper-drive.
She is VERY nervous around my younger kids and if I am not there, she will lash out. If I am there and she feels safe, she loves my kids a lot!
She is really, really scared of dogs.
She doesn't like to be picked up, but loves to crawl on your lap on her own.
I hope that doesn't deter the right home. She's really wonderful and if I didn't have a dog, I would keep her myself. She gives the best purr-snuggles, she loves laying near you and sleeping with you, she is gentle with other cats (aside from the normal adjustment cats have to each other). She's very well potty-trained and is great about using scratching posts. She is already spayed. She's such a wonderful cat.
She was abandoned and living outside for a while before someone contacted me to come get her. I didn't want her to live on the street. Give her a chance, she's worth it. ❤
