Description
We are recruiting for a Parks Volunteer Coordinator who has excellent customer service skills and ability to relate with the public. This position helps connect volunteers to Parks & Recreation related volunteer opportunities such as Park and Neighborhood Cleanups, Adopt-a-Park, and assistance with recreation programming and events. Minimum Required Qualifications: Education and Experience: *Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. *Must be 18 years of age. *One (1) or more years of customer service experience in a sports, recreation, fitness and/or enrichment industry. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: *Ability to follow verbal and written instruction. *Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. *Basic math and cash handling skills. *Ability to effectively use computer software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. *Ability to work with minimum supervision. *Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with others. *Ability to relate to the general public in a positive manner. *Ability to drive a City work truck to various park locations. *Possession of a valid driver’s license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of *Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days. *Ability to maintain acceptable driving record. *Completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City. Desired Qualifications: *Experience coordinating volunteer activities. *Ability to work weekends when clean up activities are scheduled. Schedule: *This position will work a variety of shifts to include weekends and will be scheduled up to 24 hours/week. The anticipated hiring range for the Parks Volunteer Coordinator position is $15.03 (first step) to $15.78 (second step), based on experience. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
