We are recruiting for a new program to put a cup of rice and beans into each and every one of our 2,600 bags for kids in King County. Each Monday from 8:30 am to 12:00, you’ll be making that happen. Make an impact in your community today! This new program will be crucial to increasing the quantity and quality of food for kids. Please, consider joining our ranks, meeting similarly minded people, and positively impacting your community (never mind getting out of the house!) Backpack Brigade is a midsize 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014, whose sole mission is to end weekend hunger in Washington State. By delivering bags of food to 76 K-12 schools, we feed over 2,600 kids per week to help them make it from Friday lunch to Monday breakfast. Our warehouse is located near Showbox Sodo, Filson, and Krispy Kreme on 1st Avenue South Seattle. Backpack Brigade takes COVID-19 seriously and vaccination and masking at all times are required.
