ASIST is the result of more than 25 years of research and development and is the most widely used suicide intervention program in the world. This is a two-day, 15 hour, interactive workshop. Learn how to recognize opportunities to help, assess risk of suicide, apply a suicide intervention model, and practice skills. Please note: ASIST may not be appropriate for everyone, as it could be a triggering environment. This training is an educational program and is not intended in any way to provide therapy to anyone who has experienced a recent loss or who is themselves at risk for suicide. Appropriateness of training attendance is at the discretion of the ASIST trainers. Cost: $150 (includes materials). Payment IS required at time of registration. For participants who qualify for scholarships, a PROMO CODE will be provided. Cancellation notifications must be received by April 14th, at 5 p.m. for reimbursement. Failure to notify Bethany Kuschel of cancellation prior to April 11th , 5p.m. will disqualify you for future scholarship opportunities provided by Deschutes County Prevention Program, this is applicable to ALL registrants. Scholarships: Provided to all school staff, veterans organizations and others serving vulnerable populations in Deschutes County and Crook County. When prompted in the registration form, indicate you would like to apply for a scholarship or enter the promo code provided by your district. (This is a reduced cost thanks to support from donations and grant funds!) Attendance: Complete attendance for the full  two days is required in order to be considered ASIST trained.  It is understood that outside commitments may require an attendee to leave a few minutes early.  This can be arranged with the trainer the day of the training.   However, if early departure of more than one hour is needed, attendees  should consider either readjusting their schedule for complete attendance or to take a future training.  Full two day attendees receive a certificate of attendance and therefore, the declaration of being ASIST Trained as well as Continuing Education Units (CEU's).      Food:  Due to COVID-19 precautions, no food will be provided. Please bring your own food and beverages to consume outside of the training spaces. COVID-19 Precautions: We will be following the official local guidance from local public health authorities. Participants will be asked to wear a mask, social distance, and refrain from sharing supplies during the training. Guidelines will be communicated to participants prior to the event.
