Think you have the best crawfish in town? Compete amongst other backyard boilers to win a spot in the 2023 LA Crawfish Boil Championships! Join us on April 23, 2022 for our second annual Louisiana Backyard Boilers competition, a division of the Louisiana Crawfish Boil Championships. This competition is amongst Immaculate Conception School families, friends, alumni and the greater community. Participants will boil crawfish in their own backyard and submit a bucket for judging at Immaculate Conception SchoolWinner will get a spot in our 2023 Louisiana Crawfish Boil Competition along with allotted amount of crawfish to boil for the competition, competing with other teams on site for cash prizes and recognition as the best tasting crawfish in the state of Louisiana! Entry fee to compete is $100Boilers will get a sign for their yard "Official ICS Backyard Boiler," bucket to submit crawfish, two (2) t-shirts, and koozies GuidelinesParticipants may pick up yard signs from Immaculate Conception SchoolOfficial bucket pickup will be Thursday April 21, 2022 from 8AM - 4PM in the main office of Immaculate Conception SchoolBoiled crawfish for judging must be delivered between 1PM - 2PM on April 23, 2022 to the school cafeteria at 601 Ave C in official bucket issued by ICSRules for submission will be in bucket and must be followed, participants not following rules may be subject to disqualificationJudging will follow the same format as the Louisiana Crawfish Boil ChampionshipsWinner of the Backyard Boiler division will be announced between 4PM - 5PM on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Announcement of winners will be broadcast on Facebook live RulesBoiled crawfish for judging must be delivered between 1PM and 2PM on April 23, 2022. Crawfish are to be delivered to the school cafeteria at 601 Ave C, Marrero. Signs will be posted and someone will meet you at your car to pick up your bucketOnly CRAWFISH will be judged. Do not include sides. Awards will be given for first, second, and third place winnersFill out the identification slip provided with your bucket. The identification slip must only contain the contact name, the team name, and contact phone numberPlace the identification slip in the "PACKING LIST ENCLOSED" envelope so that the information written on the identification slip cannot be seen. Stick the envelope to the outside bottom of the bucketThe envelope and bucket should be void of any markingsFill the container at least 3/4 full of fresh boiled crawfishA panel selected by event organizers will conduct the judging in secretThis is a nonprofit event designed to benefit Immaculate Conception School. All decisions by judges are final. Failure to follow these rules will result in disqualificationWinners of the Backyard Boiler division will be announced between 4PM - 5PM on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
