Enjoy a family campout weekend on the farm by the ocean at beautiful Slide Ranch! Our Family Campouts offer the very special opportunity to pitch your tent at our campsite overlooking the ocean. We anticipate that it will be a wonderful opportunity for your family to come enjoy the trails, tide pools, plants and animals of Slide Ranch. We invite you to pitch your tent on the Dome meadow, overlooking the ocean, about a 10 minute hike down a trail from our parking area. We request that you please bring your own picnic dinner and breakfast, as communal meals are not currently feasible, unfortunately. Please bring foods that do not require refrigeration or reheating, to keep things very simple. For example, pasta salad or sandwiches, and cereal with bananas and shelf-stable milk. We will provide a stove for heating water for hot beverages. We may offer a Friday evening campfire, weather dependent. We will offer a hands-on goat milking demonstration on Saturday morning at 10 am. We will also provide an envelope with activities for your self-guided exploration: a map with sensory activities for you to do as you explore different areas of the ranch, prompts to guide your observations, a beach scavenger hunt, etc. As part of our Covid-19 safety measures we are hosting this event to be exclusively outdoors and will facilitate all activities to enable physical distance to be maintained. We require that you wear a mask whenever you are within 6 feet of anyone outside of your household and ask you to please do a health self-assessment and refrain from participating in case of any signs of illness. All individuals, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks indoors. Masks are recommended but not mandatory outdoors. We are not yet requiring proof of vaccination, however, that may change as we follow local, state and federal guidelines and will make changes based on their health recommendations.
