Working Outdoors Arboriculture/Horticulture Tree Mysteries Gage Tree Service is looking for Plant Healthcare Technicians! More than a job, Gage offers a challenging and fulfilling career. Gage has current openings for both experienced and trainee Plant Healthcare Technicians; these positions will work in both the Anchorage and Mat-Su area! They will dive into horticulture problems or challenges and help identify and execute solutions to ensure the customer's trees/yards remain healthy and beautiful. Plant Healthcare Technicians will work as a member of a Gage's team while progressively learning new skills within the trade. They are responsible for a variety of things including but not limited to: · Meet with customers to determine ultimate objectives regarding their property's plants and trees. · Properly identify and diagnose insects, diseases, and fungi; this assumes the employee will become educated on susceptible areas in the customer's geographic location. · Determine and execute appropriate treatment remedies. · Monitor the health of the treated trees, plants and shrubs while on-site, and communicate progress with others as needed. · Communicate with and educate GAGE's clients on the service(s) the company is performing. · Drive, use, maintain, and properly operate equipment (truck, tanks, probes, etc.). · Monitor inventory of products and notify supervisors of needs. Plant Healthcare Technicians with GAGE must have the following qualifications · Have a current and valid driver's license · Be able to obtain an Alaskan Pesticide Applicator Certificate within 30 days of employment (this is a three-day class with a subsequent exam) · Hard working, committed, and willing to work in all types of weather · Coachable or otherwise self-motivated and self-driven to learn, and grow Previous arboriculture, horticulture or landscaping experience is terrific, but not necessary.
