Through her position at ESH she is able to provide patients with an avenue for hope. Formerly, Christine worked as a Residence Director at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO for three years. Her compassion for suicide intervention grew through this position as she talked with several students that were having thoughts of suicide. Christine has her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Welfare from Adams State University. She is excited about the opportunity to join the Spokane community to help in the suicide prevention efforts that already exist. Melody Youker Melody Youker is a case manager for Martin Hall Juvenile Detention facility, where she has worked for more than 15 years. She also spent 6 years as a correctional counselor for Second Chance. Melody holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice from Montana State University. Currently, she volunteers as a team leader for Prevent Suicide Spokane, Spokane County Suicide Prevention Coalition, and helps organize the annual AFSP Out of the Darkness Community Walk in Spokane. FailSafe for Life is non-profit organization with the mission to end suicide in the Spokane area. We aspire to achieve this through education, instilling hope, and connecting communities. As part of this endeavor, we offer “Saturation Training” or basic education to the key gatekeepers laid out in the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention along with any other interested party. We also offer advanced level training for helping professions or those whowould be providing emergency and/or ongoing care.
