This baking camp will introduce young children to different baking styles and techniques. The camp is very hands-on, and encourages children to learn to follow recipes and get creative. The kids will get comfortable mixing doughs, understanding yeast, cutting, shaping and decorating.
Day 1
Cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting-
-We will make these scrumptious baked goods from scratch, while learning about the magic of yeast. While the rolls are rising and baking, we will mix frosting for coating the rolls.
-If time permits, we will make quick cinnamon bites to enjoy in class.
Day 2
Dessert shots-
- Learn to make some elegant personal desserts. These will surely be a hit in any party!
-Chocolate mousse dessert shots
-Strawberry shortcake dessert shots
Day 3
Homemade sandwich cookies (Oreos)-
-We will make the cookies dough from scratch, mixing and rolling and cutting and baking.
-While cookies are baking, we will make a buttercream filling, and when cookies are baked and cooled, we will fill our cookies and pack to take home.
Day 4-
Who doesn’t love fresh Bread?
-We will start the day by learning about bread, the ingredients and the magic that goes into creating this lovely staple food.
-We will shape our own loaves of Challah (a wonderful egg bread), proof and bake them.
-We will make challah Pizzas for lunch.
