Learn to sew on a sewing machine!! Learn the basics of a sewing machine, along with how to make a drawstring bag Did you just purchase your very first sewing machine? Not sure where to start? Sewing can feel intimidating at the very start. Join Grace in learning the ins-and-outs of sewing with a sewing machine. We will be covering parts of a sewing machine, common troubleshooting with a machine, and how to follow a pattern. We will be making a variety of projects throughout the year, so don’t feel like you can take just one class and get everything you need. Students are welcome to take as many beginner introduction classes as it takes to feel comfortable with sewing! We will be making projects including a pin cushion, a super useful tool any sewist needs in their toolbox; drawstring project bag; and much more! See the full schedule to find out which project you’ll want to make while learning to sew. Students are encouraged to bring their own sewing machine and basic sewing kit. If student does not yet own a sewing machine, please coordinate ahead of time to borrow a machine for class. Projects require fabric and coordinating thread. Grace McFetters is a fiber artist and pysanky artist, as well.  She has taught egg art since 2011, having practiced the art since she was very young.  She started working with fiber around 2013 and has found her true calling in weaving and all things yarn.  Find out more about her at www.transcendfiberstudio.com.
