Description

FREMONT, CA — A real-life Cruella de Vil stole a van loaded with 27 dogs in crates from a motel in Fremont overnight. The van was equipped with GPS, and was tracked to Oakland. Oakland Police found the van, and the dogs were safely recovered before noon on Monday. Fremont Police say the van was at an Extended Stay Hotel in Fremont. It was left running with the keys in the ignition overnight and the dogs inside. The van was swiped some time between 10 p.m. and 5:20 a.m. Oakland Police say they arrested the driver and detained another person who was trying to buy one of the dogs. None of the dogs were injured. Dog recovered from stolen van. (Photo courtesy Oakland Police Dept.)
