Description

Families and friends, it is time to celebrate "Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month" for the month of April! The Kern Autism Network, Inc. would like to invite our families and friends to join us at Beach Park on Saturday, April 2nd for a drive through Autism Spirit Car Parade and Family Autism BBQ. We want to see your Autism Spirit with decorated cars, dressing up in the Autism colors of red-yellow-blue, bringing your posters, signs of Autism and just joining us to celebrate our kids and adults with Autism! So tell your family and friends to sign up and join us and show us their Autism Spirit in Bakersfield. We plan on having quite a celebration with media & community friends joining us to commemorate this special day and month! The BBQ at Beach Park on Oak Street and 21st will have FREE hotdogs and chips for the families to join us with fun and games as well. Food vendors will be available with goodies to purchase as well. Families are allowed to bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy the day. NOTE: The parade will line up with all cars at Beach Park at 11:00 a.m. and proceed in a car line around the park to do a lap and show their decorated cars. After the car parade at Beach Park, we will be ready for the Autism Family BBQ. This event is NOT open to the general public. Registration is required due to a food count that must ensure we have enough hotdogs for our families. A BIG Thank you to the Fox Theatre for the marquee with signage to highlight the cause for "April Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month". This was just a few of the pictures from last year's event at the Fox Theatre. The Kern Autism Network, Inc.
