MARLBOROUGH, MA — Friends of a Marlborough High School graduate have started a fundraiser for Adam Brian Cobb's children after he died unexpectedly in February. Cobb, 42, was born in Newton, but grew up in Marlborough. He later attended Stonehill College, and then moved to Nashville to attend business school. He died on Feb. 10 in Tennessee, according to his obituary, leaving behind a son and daughter. Cobb's sister, Heather Cummings, of Franklin, recently set up a $50,000 GoFundMe fundraiser for Cobb's children, Preston and Evelyn. "Adam was a cheerful, sarcastic, funny, generous and lasting friend to all," Cummings wrote in the appeal. "He could be seen supporting Preston at a baseball game or being Evelyn's No. 1 gymnastics fan. Adam was an involved and adored father to Preston and Evelyn. He will be missed deeply by everyone." As of Monday, the fundraiser had raised just over $36,000 toward the total goal. A funeral for Cobb was held in Tennessee in February. But there will be a memorial service and tribute for him on March 20 at the Marlborough Country Club, according to his obituary.
