WOODBRIDGE, VA — An unknown man sexually assaulted a jogger in Woodbridge on Friday, police said. Now, authorities are asking for the public's help identifying the suspect.
The assault occurred near the intersection of Dale Boulevard and Ridgefield Road, according to police. Officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
The victim, a 36-year-old woman, told police than an unknown man grabbed her from behind while she was jogging. The man inappropriately touched the victim before she pushed him away, police said.
The victim ran from the suspect, called police, and met officers at a business in the area. She believed that the suspect was intoxicated, according to the police report. Witnesses last saw the man enter the woods near Quiet Place.
Officers searched the area, but they did not find the suspect. The victim was not injured in the assault.
The Prince William County Police Department described the suspect as a tall, light-skinned man with a thin build. He had tangled hair, police said. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a black medical mask.
