Press release from Belmont Public Schools: 2/28/2022 The upcoming Foundation for Belmont Education online auction has so many wonderful offerings from extremely generous sponsors and supporters. The following are a small sampling of our offerings – go to fbe-belmont.org/auction between March 7-18 and view many, many more offers to bid on! Bid early, bid often, and bid to make a difference in the Belmont Public Schools! Belmont Fire Department – Ride a firetruck to school! The Online Auction committee are still accepting donations to include in our auction. Please email [email protected] The FBE Spelling Bee will be held on Saturday, April 9, at the Chenery Middle School beginning at 2:00 pm. The Bee is open to all students in grades K-6 and is an exciting event for students, family, and friends! Spellers participate in three- or four-person teams and are on stage in groups (or swarms) at assigned times. Word lists are being posted soon to the FBE website, so there is plenty of time to study! Kindergarten through fourth grade swarms are non-competitive. Fifth and sixth grade swarms are competitive, and still team based. Spellers do not need to be at the Bee for the entire event, only for their "swarm" time. Create a 3 or 4 person team! Online registration will be open March 9-23. Registration is completed at the individual speller level, but a team name and the names of all team members are required before an individual can register. Please start planning now so that you can register with your team as soon as possible to secure a spot!
