I need someone to move my tiny house in April. The tiny house is currently located between Carson and Ojo Caliente. Total moving distance will be around 70-80 miles. I have moved the house a number of times, including from Dixon to Gila Hot Springs, near Silver City, and then back to Taos, and it hauls great. The house weighs just under 8,000 lbs and is legal to move down the road without a permit or assist vehicle. The house is 18 ft long (plus the hitch), 8.5 ft wide and 13.5 ft tall. It is built on a dual axle flatbed trailer that was constructed for a tiny house. The trailer is rated for a little over 10,000 lbs total – so the home is significantly under the trailer's weight rating. It's the height that most concerns me, in terms of driver care and skill, as it is taller than most things that people move down the road. I generally have the home moved with a 1 ton dually truck, and it is very stable being towed behind a 1 ton.
