Description

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck firefighters extinguished a house fire on Carroll Street Monday morning, according to fire officials. No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was contained to a third floor bedroom. "Occupants closed the bedroom door prior to leaving the apartment; this greatly reduced the spread of the fire," officials wrote on Facebook (see below). The American Red Cross said it is helping three temporarily displaced families — ten adults, two children — who live in the multifamily house. Red Cross responders included Eric Oubre, Art Hopkins, James Maher, Sheri Mackenzie and Art Zbrozek. "Those affected will connect with Red Cross caseworkers in the coming days to work on a longer-term recovery plan," Red Cross officials said in a statement.
