GREENWICH, CT — A 49-year-old man was arrested earlier this month after police said he unlawfully entered a guest house on a Greenwich property and tried to steal money.
Police said around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 23, they responded to a home on North Street on a report of a man, later identified as Ahmad Lee, who had unlawfully entered a guest house on the property.
An investigation found that Lee entered through an unlocked door to the guest house and made his way to the second floor where a guest was sleeping, according to an arrest report.
The guest woke up and saw Lee stealing $967 from his money clip, the arrest report said.
"When told to give back the money, Lee did so and attempted to leave the property," police said.
Lee, who did not have a listed address on his arrest report, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and fifth-degree larceny, police said.
He was unable to post a $5,000 bond, and was given a court date of March 9.
