Just in Time for Foster Youth (JIT) Receives Over $270,000 from Champions for Youth Fundraising Competition Contact: Sarah Vargas, [email protected], 951-591-9727 San Diego, CA – Just in Time for Foster Youth (JIT), a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging a caring community to help transition age foster youth achieve self-sufficiency and well-being, was awarded a grand total of $273,984 as a result of its participation in Champions for Youth, the core charitable program for the Century Club of San Diego which is the nonprofit organization that manages the renowned Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course. JIT was named one of six local nonprofit organizations participating in the annual Champions for Youth fundraiser competition, all of which serve at-risk and underserved communities in and around San Diego County. Each organization was challenged with peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns that doubled as competitions for the highest amount raised and the highest number of unique donors. These campaigns ran from November 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022. In addition to these fundraising campaigns, the nonprofits also received valuable development and marketing services and volunteer support from the Century Club staff. For the second consecutive year, JIT successfully placed first in both categories: total number of unique contributions and total funds raised. By raising $198,342 from nearly 800 unique donors, JIT earned additional funds from the Famers Cares Bonus pool: a $37,000 bonus for number of unique contributions, a $20,000 bonus for total funds raised, and a $4,500 bonus for having 98% of transactions online. JIT also received a $14,142 bonus during two Farmers events: the Together on the Tee Dinner and the Charity Challenge. This brings the award grand total to over a quarter of one million dollars. “We’re always honored to be chosen as one of the lucky organizations to participate because this campaign allows us to showcase something that Just in Time is known for, which is building community.
