Press release from the City of Westlake: Posted on: March 11, 2020 A Message About Coronavirus: Be Informed, Not Fearful Considering fact-based findings about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and state and county health officials, the City of Westlake strongly urges residents to be cognizant of but not alarmed by news of efforts to control the spread of the disease. The city encourages everyone to consult information and best practices recommended by public health officials and to take reasonable, common-sense steps to keep themselves in good health. These steps include, but are not limited to, the following: Wash your hands regularly Refrain from touching your face Stay home if you feel ill Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze Regularly clean and disinfect surfaces in your home or office The City of Westlake is taking appropriate precautions to look out for the health and well-being of our residents by increasing cleaning efforts at the Recreation Center, Community Center and other city facilities, as well as advising staff on best practices for mitigating the spread of disease-causing germs.
