FREMONT, CA — A home invasion robbery in Fremont led to a police chase that ended in a crash early Monday morning, Fremont Police say.
The victims of the home invasion were not injured.
Two suspects were taken into custody.
The home invasion was on Ibero Way. Police say one of the two suspects was armed with a loaded handgun.
The pair stole items from the home and drove off in the victim's vehicle, according to police. It was spotted by officers on Mission Boulevard, and police chased the vehicle. It crashed into a building.
Both suspects were caught. 19 year-old Keshavsharan Virk of San Jose, and a 17 year-old juvenile were arrested on suspicion of armed home invasion robbery, burglary, possession of a firearm, felony evading, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
A loaded handgun was recovered in the stolen vehicle, police say.
Police found another stolen vehicle in the neighborhood where the home invasion happened and believe the suspects arrived in it.
The crash was on busy Mission Boulevard. Police closed Mission Boulevard between Niles Canyon and Mayhews roads roads for several hours because of the crash and investigation.
