WESTLAKE, OH — An intoxicated man wandered into a closed, but unlocked McDonald's searching for chicken nuggets last week, police said.
At 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 12, an alarm was triggered at the McDonald's on Detroit Road, at Westbay Plaza. When police arrived, they saw a 25-year-old man walking out of the front door of the restaurant.
Police detained the man and determined he was intoxicated, according to a police spokesperson.
The 25-year-old said he was "surprised that no one was there to take his order of chicken nuggets," according to police.
The restaurant was closed but had not been locked properly, a police spokesperson told Patch.
Officers searched the restaurant and confirmed no one else was inside. A McDonald's manager was then called to properly lock the business.
The 25-year-old was taken to Westlake Jail. He is accused of misdemeanor disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
