Description

Press release from the City of Shakopee: May 21, 2020 Sealcoating operations could begin Friday, May 29, weather permitting. The contractor, Astech, will post no parking signs the day prior to work starting. All vehicles, including trailers and campers, must be removed from the street. Vehicles remaining on the street will be towed. If possible, please avoid the area until all work is complete. If necessary to drive through a completed area, move slowly and cautiously. Sealcoating can be a messy and dusty operation. Residents are asked not to turn on their sprinklers or water their lawn until two hours after the rock has been laid on the street. Work usually takes four to five days to complete all designated streets in Shakopee. A map is available on the city website. Exact dates depend on weather and the contractor's schedule. Updates will be posted at www.ShakopeeMN.gov/roadclosures. Sealcoating, also known as chip sealing, is a pavement maintenance practice that extends pavement life and offers a revitalized driving surface.
