The Palos Verdes Art Center has been providing art and education experiences for South Bay residents for 90 years. We are looking for a positive motivated team player to join our staff. This position is 9am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday with some Friday events depending on the event schedule. JOB DUTIES Office Cleaning and Maintenance Remove trash Dust offices, furniture and office equipment Vacuum carpet Sweep and mop floors Clean windows Restroom Cleaning and Maintenance Clean sinks and toilets Sweep and mop floors Fill toilet paper, paper towel and soap dispensers Keep everything sparkling clean Classroom and Event Set-up Set up chairs and tables for classes, meetings and events Set up glasses, cups, silverware, plates and table clothes Make coffee, tea and other beverages as needed Help teachers and meeting coordinators get set up Break down and clean up after meetings and classes General Repairs and Other Maintenance Duties Light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall and other construction Build and paint pedestals Paint galleries Floor stripping and waxing on a regular basis Kitchen Maintenance Keep kitchen spotless Clean counters, floors, walls and equipment Clean out refrigerator and freezer on a regular basis Wash dishes and glasses as needed Keep dishwasher working and stocked with proper cleaning solutions Outside Grounds Maintenance Clean the grounds and outside building areas Clean and maintain awnings Clean patio Keep tables and chairs on the patio clean Paint areas as needed Qualifications Minimum 2 years facility maintenance experience Self-starter who is responsible, reliable and accountable Ability to follow instructions Helpful and kind attitude Organized and pays attention to detail Able to lift 50 lbs Ability to read and write English, speak and understand English Willingness to help and do whatever is needed when asked with a positive attitude
