WESTLAKE, OH — Mike and Delicia Ostrowski were crowned Mr. and Mrs. Westlake at a Tree Lighting ceremony at city hall on Sunday.
For 65 years, the Westlake Town Criers have dubbed one couple Mr. and Mrs. Westlake. The titles are bestowed on residents who best served the people of Westlake during the past year. The Ostrowskis claimed the honor for 2021.
Delicia Ostrowski is a nurse, who has served as PTA president and has taken on other PTA roles. She has organized fundraisers for students, like Dollars for Scholars. As a nurse, her professional life has never been more important.
Mike Ostrowki is a sports professional who volunteers as a coach and mentors kids through basketball and football. The couple balance their professional lives and charitable work with raising three children.
In a small, socially-distanced ceremony on Sunday evening, the Ostrowskis were joined by Mayor Dennis Clough and Rick Grane of the Town Criers. The attendees all wore masks when not speaking.
As Mr. and Mrs. Westlake, the Ostrowskis had the honor of lighting up the city's array of holiday decorations inside and outside of Westlake City Hall. They will also be featured in city-sponsored events in 2021, such as the Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades.
