Re:Will sanctions work?

I do not believe sanctions will really work. I mean, they will", but Putin does not appear to be bothered by them because despite trying, Putin's assets are hidden and there's no real way to affect him personally through sanctions. It will however(through time) take its toll on Russian citizens and other aspects of Russia and its economy. Presently it appears that the invasion of Ukraine alone is doing some work. Much of the world(including Russian citizens0 are not happy that Putin invaded Ukraine unprovoked and without just cause. This may ruin Putin's reputation, label him the tyrant he really is, and could affect his "re-electability" in the future, but that is "the long game", and since "Russia is Russia", there's no telling it it will even if Putin's reputation at home drops to zero. What I think should have happened is, I think NATO should have gotten "more involved". I don't mean to start a war, but I think NATO should have put it foot down and up Putin's ass. If NATO was "in Ukraine" to make a stand and an example out of Russia, Putin might have through twice about setting foot in Ukraine and using his usual communist tactics as a reason for invading. NATO has been too easy to look the other way and just allow Russia to do whatever it chooses. This time around, NATO could have made a difference, because if Russia decided to move on NATO, all of Europe and the U.S would have been involved and I don't think Putin is quite that stupid to risk all out war with NATO, the U.S and the remainder of its allies. However, that does open a can of worms and again opens the possibility of an ongoing war in Europe which has not been seen since 1945. I just think NATO should have made more of an effort and taken a real stand, but what is happening is happening now. Will sanctions work? If you disagree with Bidens handling of Putin and the invasion of Ukraine, let us know what you would do differently if you were the leader of the free world. It is easy to criticize. Solutions to complex problems seem to allude conservatives. What would YOU do differently. Enter another 20 year war?
