Description
WESTLAKE, OH — Mayor Dennis Clough recognized Westlake's Senior and Community Services Department's transportation team this month.
Drivers on the team have been providing "steadfast, reliable" service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The 10-driver team offers rides to senior residents, getting them to essential meetings like medical appointments or helping them get groceries and medications.
Clough noted that the team works hard to keep the rides safe and sanitary during the COVID-19 pandemic. Drivers also make conversation with the seniors, helping them feel connected and combating social isolation.
In addition to offering rides, the team has been calling the seniors regularly and delivering food and supplies to their homes.
"I extend gratitude to the members of this team for their professionalism, dedication to service, positive attitude and kindness to the members of the public," Clough said in an official Proclamation dedicated to the Senior Transportation Team. "Congratulations on your success and let me assure you that Westlake residents appreciate you. I am proud to have such a great group of dedicated employees."
Clough deemed Dec. 11 would be named in honor of the Senior Transportation team.
The team consists of the following members: Dan DeVito, Pat McNamara, Outreach Coordinator Donna Feorene, Nancy Fox, Peggy Marquard, Bob Kowal, Mary Rabatsky, Tom Weaver, Joe Starin, John Price and Marty Kelly.
