FREMONT, CA. – December 17, 2020 – The Rotary Club of Silicon Valley for Global Impact was formed in May of 2020 whose focus is on the environment, education, human values and the World. The club has bridged together the values and passion of Rotary International (www.rotary.org) , service above self, and the Art of Living (website) community members also engaged in service projects around the world. "By bringing together Rotary's historic humanitarian contributions coupled with these organizations, we hope to inspire a movement of citizen action to overcome the challenges for the betterment of the communities we serve," said Ramesh Hariharan, Past District Governor, District 5170. "So much work is being done around the world to make our communities more resilient to the volatile nature of the world we live in and our goal is to bring the like-minded leaders leading these efforts to come together and become stronger together," said Ravi Pathak, club president of Rotary Club of Global Impact. "Building a coalition of various humanitarian NGOs as part of Rotary's values of service above self will strengthen the efforts of these initiatives," he added. The club meets virtually and is comprised of volunteers/members from other organizations such as : Overseas Volunteers for a Better India (OVBI), Care for Children (CFC), SKY School of International Association for Human Values (IAHV) With this combination of expertise and talent, together we are: Carrying out successful service projects for the betterment of communities leveraging collaboration and technology; Developing leaders to address the issues of environment, poverty and human values Educating and advocate for efficient management and maintenance of natural resources; Contributing to the advancement of Human Values of stress-free and violence-free society by strengthening membership and collaboration; Inspiring and adhere to the values of service and a better quality of life. ABOUT THE CLUB AND MEMBERS: The club charter is to build a coalition for healthy and resilient communities to address the issues of environment, poverty and human values through community engagement. The club has committees which are already doing significant work through their own existing NGOs: Environment & Water - OVBI Water led by Satej Chaudhary Transform rural India from the state of water poverty to water plenty by 2030.
