We run all of our projects in and around Evanston. The Construction and Landscape Associate will be a part of a team that builds and installs sustainable landscapes. Our outdoor season runs from early April through November and there is potential for indoor winter work. The ideal candidate can demonstrate some of the following knowledge and/or skill sets: ● Basic/Rough Carpentry (these skills are especially desired!): framing, raised beds, arbors, pergolas, trellises, fence building ● Landscaping: Including but not limited to plantings, mulching, amending soil, and waste removal. ● Water Conservation: Installing drip irrigation, French drains, rain water gardens, rainwater catchment systems, ponds and/or water features. ● Basic Masonry: Building pathways with brick, stone and other hardscape materials. ● A positive attitude and openness to learn and an eagerness to learn the tools of the trade of sustainable/green development ● Must be in good physical shape and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. ● Enthusiasm for working outdoors in all types of weather. ● Detail-oriented and ability to complete assigned tasks ● Ability to be a part of a team as well as work independently ● Responsible and honest Compensation: Pay starts at $19 per hour but is more for individuals with experience.
