Maintenance Tech: Property management firm is seeking a maintenance technician with experience; basic hand tools needed. This position is full-time. We offer paid holidays, vacation pay, health insurance, paid mileage, 401(k) and overtime opportunity. This position also requires on-call rotation; must live within 40 minutes of Madison. Must have current driver’s license, vehicle and insurance. Salary commensurate with experience. Qualifications: • Math skills including using a tape measure and angles • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blue prints • Ability to use mechanical tools, gauges, and machines • Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task and have good problem-solving skills • Have the ability to use mechanical and electrical tools as well as test and measuring equipment to assemble and/or troubleshoot equipment • Overtime is mandatory during August campus turnover. May need to work overtime in other months, including on-call weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays) • Prior experience in maintenance and skilled labor involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, windows installation, as well as hand tools such as utility knife, hammer, deglazing tools, etc. • Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and otherwise maneuver throughout shift • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills • A good understanding of safety procedures • Willingness to learn and be flexible • Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills Responsibilities: • Loading and unloading materials and equipment • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Following instructions from supervisors and implementing plans • Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties • Interacts with customers in a professional manner • Safely perform all aspects of job in compliance with all federal, state & local laws • Contribute to a positive team environment • Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times • Demonstrate high levels of good housekeeping practices
