FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA —Orange County Health Care Agency confirmed that 931 residents have tested positive for new coronavirus as of Tuesday afternoon. An additional 50 cases were reported, as compared to the 51 new coronavirus cases reported Monday in Orange County. This is the third straight day that new cases did not rise above 51. Overnight, an as-of-yet unidentified woman died as a result of the virus, hospitals reported. To date, 15 Orange County residents have died as a result of the virus since the epidemiologists began recording data. As of Tuesday afternoon, 129 residents remained hospitalized and of those, 75 are in intensive care, OC Healthcare reported. The hospitals where people have been admitted into care were not released. There are 24 hospitals reported data to OC Healthcare out of 25 eligible hospitals. "Numbers fluctuate day-by-day due to changes in patient conditions," according to OC Healthcare's website. All data is "gathered daily, at one point in time." An additional 818 patients were tested overnight, bringing the total of Orange County residents tested for coronavirus to 11,307, according to OC Healthcare. Public health labs and commercial labs have the ability to test 1,731 more people on Tuesday, they say. Of those who have died in Orange County: 8 over the age of 65-years old.2 were between 25-34 years old.1 person was between 35-44 years old4 people were between 45-64 years old.Eight of the deceased were men, and seven were women.
