Participants needed for a PAID research study!

You are eligible for this study if you are ages 18+, and you or your family immigrated from Africa and you currently live in either the US or Canada. Please sign up here: https://projectredcap.monell.org/surveys/?s=3XM9PXHFFA Medicines often taste bad and flavors are added to make medicine taste better -- but not everyone likes the same flavors. Our goal is to study how taste varies in people worldwide and use this information to improve the flavor of medicine. We will mail a box to your home with the taste tests and other materials. During a remote (Zoom) session, you will be asked to taste and rate the bitterness of 12 solutions, all of which are spit out. None are swallowed. Some solutions contain small amounts of medicines. Additionally, you will mail us a spit (saliva) sample after completing the taste tests. After we receive the saliva sample, you will be paid a $50 USD ($63.57 CAD) Amazon gift card for your time. - This study is free; you are not asked to pay for anything - All materials (taste solutions kit, saliva kit, pre-paid return packaging) will be sent to you - The remote testing session is a 45-minute Zoom Meeting and you can complete the study from your home!
