Description

This is Raphael. We call him Raffy. He was a rescue a couple of years ago and we have tried to make it work with him, but he is just not getting much better for our family. He needs a family with no children & no small animals. He is very loving, cuddly, playful, loyal, and smart. Only issue is he tries to assert dominance too much with small humans & small animals. He never had a big issue until today when he almost bit my toddler, just for her walking up to me while he was at my feet. He does great with just my husband, in the shop, around the yard, very good on & off leash. Great recall. Knows many commands. He is UTD on shots & is fixed. He is kennel trained, but does great outside the kennel as well. We only have him in it when we are gone and some nights when our kids have campouts in the living room. We were told he is around 3 years old. We did a DNA test on him and found out he is German shepherd, American Staffordshire Terrior, and some other small amount of mixes. The home life he had prior to us was just not good. He was neglected, hit a lot, and left outside to fend for himself until he was rescued and ended up with us. We tried to love him enough and train him for a family dog, but we just have too many littles. We just want him to live his best life with the best home for him. I do not like continuously separating him from the family or having to exclude him from activities due to fear of how he would be with the children & other dogs. If you are interested in him, please send me an email explaining your home situation, why you think you'd be a good fit, and ages of people in the home. There is a small rehome fee to ensure he will be loved the way we have loved him. Nothing extravagant. I just do not want him to end up as someone's bait dog.
