Description
Welcome to the 2nd annual culture show hosted by the Filipino Student Assc. at KSU. The theme is reflecting on Filipino origins: Pinagmulan. This year's musical is a dramatic love story set in the Philippines in the 1940's. Loyalty is tested when our lead soldier, Antonio, falls deeply in love with the enemy's daughter, Rosenda. Antonio is faced with the choices of being devoted to his country or pursuing a love that could cost him everything. Please enjoy our historical retelling of the classic Romeo and Juliet story with a Hamilton twist! Along with our musical, FSA at KSU proudly presents 3 other performances. The first performance is a musical number by the Lonzanida family; Sophia, AJ, and JT. The second performance is our K-Pop Dance Team at Kennesaw State; Seoul in Kennesaw (Sin-K). And last not but not least, our third and final performance is none other than our competitive dance team, ATLFSA. FSA at KSU's philanthropy is the P.U.S.O. Foundation. P.U.S.O. is an acronym that stands for the Purposeful Unconditional Service to Others. The word "Puso" is also a tagalog word that translate into the word "heart". As P.U.S.O. states, "every action we take as an organization begins with our hearts". The Purposeful Unconditional Service to Others is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission to empower individuals to be involved in service work through the gift of giving back. They are able to allocate financial contributions to impoverished communities, schools, communal projects and their relief efforts around the world. Such services can be exemplified through their mission trips as well as their donations of basic life necessities. P.U.S.O. also fosters youth engagement and creative outreach and facilitates extracurricular activities, so they can plant the seed of faith and opportunity in human beings. As part of their college outreach program, FSA at KSU hopes to further their mission to allow our members and community the opportunity to give back to the motherland and foster a sense of leadership, commitment, and hard work. The doors for food will open at 5:00pm, and the doors for the theater will open at 6:30pm, with the show starting at 7:00pm. Our food will be catered by none other than Kamayan ATL, an Atlanta native family business specializing in traditional Filipino food.
