BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge Trustee Zach Mottl, whose colleagues have reprimanded him five times in the last year, won't say whether he is running for another term in the April 6 election. "I haven't made up my mind. I'm considering it seriously," he said in an interview Wednesday. Whatever the case, he said he'll remain vocal about village issues. Mottl was elected to the Village Board in 2017 and lost in the mayor's race to Gary Grasso two years later. Candidates have from Dec. 14 to Dec. 21 to file their paperwork to run for office. At a meeting last week, Grasso and other trustees lamented Mottl's behavior during meetings. "I don't know where those who support (Mottl) are, but they need to step forward and demand he step down," the mayor said. "Hopefully, this saga will soon end with the next election." Mottl said Wednesday he would continue to speak out. "Just because I'm not a trustee doesn't mean I can't speak and ask questions and point out corruption and dirty deals," Mottl said. "If the mayor thinks the spotlight on him is going away, it's not."
