Here are the top 3 stories in Savannah today: The Savannah Police Department released its 2021 Crime Analysis, which revealed that violent crime is down 8 percent overall in Savannah. According to the report, aggravated assaults with and without guns went down 11 percent, rape decreased 14 percent, and commercial robbery declined 62 percent from 2020. "SPD worked diligently and strategically to address the factors that lead to violence in our community," said Chief Roy Minter. (Savannah Police Department)The Chatham County Health Department will be offering free mammograms to eligible residents next month. If you meet certain guidelines, you will be eligible for this free service on Mar. 22 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the health department. Guidelines include being between the ages of 40 and 64, not having insurance, and falling under certain annual income requirements outlined on their website. Appointments are required. (WSAV-TV) According to police, a person was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning outside AMF Savannah Lanes on Tibet Street. According to authorities, the victim's wounds are not life-threatening. Police are still seeking information about the shooting.
