Looking for spring/summer work outdoors? I’m looking for gardening/landscaping help, late April thru May - $25/hour. Hours are flexible. This will be a large planting project, converting a lawn to native groundcovers and planting a number of small trees and shrubs on an urban lot in Portland. Experience not required, but interest in horticulture, ecology, gardening or landscape design is a plus. Must have drivers’ license and transportation. Work will include: picking up large plant orders in MA and CT (we’ll provide a rented truck), removing and composting existing sod, planting new grasses, perennials, shrubs and trees without damaging existing plantings, helping to establish new plants. Most of the work will be done by hand, all tools provided. This job is expected to be 20-30 hours/week, late April through may, with the option to do some continuing work through the summer and fall.
