After 43 years a widow Steven Charette father of 16 year old Mason charette never having been homeless before arrived in phoenix late January 2022 on a promise by an old landlord he would keep an apartment available only to be let down the day we arrived. With very little money I made a mistake and in desperation bought a car on offerup and soon later discovered the vehicle I bought had a blown head gasket, we sit in a walmart parking lot every night in this broken honda civic wondering how long before we have to be on foot in this dangerous city with murders happening every day I am on ssi and am waiting to get my assigned smi case manager which is and is in process, what I am asking is for any help possible to better our situation I have a medical device which needs a clean place for medical care I have a housing list and it does not assist people like me who are on disability and they don't care about the minor,, most places require ou to be in a work program which I cannot do. We have no family or friends no support group If theres any help anywhere for a 43 year old disabled parent with a teenager.
