Description

JJ is 2yr/male/neutered Chihuahua/Australian Cattledog Mix. He is about 20lbs. He's HIGH ENERGY and SUPER SMART! He loves elderly folks and overall prefers men over women. He does best in a home without young children. His personality is like a working dog trapped in a 20lbs body. He can easily jump a 5-6ft fence and run 8 miles a day alongside a bike. He can hike about 6-10 miles. He's swims, fetches, plays tug, and LOVES obedience training. He's gone camping, paddleboarding, kayaking, and bicycling. He's a ton of fun to train because he's so smart and bouncy. However, I'm a female and he just doesn't bond with me the way he does with men. He'd be happier with a male owner who is younger, more active, and someone who enjoys doing tons of training with him. I'm just not the right fit for this dog. I adopted him during the pandemic from a family with young kids, and I think he was abused by the wife and kids. He's fully crate trained, potty trained, basic/advanced obedience trained with distance and duration, clicker trained, and only eats when he's working for it. New owner will need to do a meet and greet with his current trainer and be willing to maintain training (it will be free). His training videos with the clicker trainer is located under JJ: https://www.youtube.com/user/tomware11359/playlists He has a pretty dominant personality, and has some fear reactivity with women/children due to his history. He responds best to positive reinforcement and clicker training. Harsh corrections and humanizing (coddling it like a baby) this dog will result in behavioral issues. His personality is very independent when he's not training or playing fetch. He thrives in a structured environments, where he's forced to relax on his "place/bed/crate" after training/exercise/play. He needs an experienced, patient, confident, VERY ACTIVE male owner. Rehoming fee of $350 cash/venmo/paypal/zelle. I will provide his sleeping crate and transportation crate, various leashes, life vest, running harness, hiking booties, winter feet balm, shampoo, training platforms, snuffle feed mat, feeding bowls, extra food, year's worth of heartworm/flea medication, toys, toothbrush/toothpaste, nail clippers, and free training with Tom Waters.
