Press release from the City of Roseville: October 21, 2020 Stay safe. Replace the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide (CO) detector at least once a year. Roseville Fire suggests changing batteries every year at the end of Daylight Saving Time on November 1. In addition to replacing batteries annually, smoke alarms and CO detectors should be replaced at least once every 10 years. According to the State Fire Marshall, residential fires account for more than 80% of all fire deaths in Minnesota.
