Press release from Ramsey County: October 27, 2020 The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month at their Oct. 27 meeting. The board recognized the Saint Paul & Ramsey County Domestic Abuse Intervention Project and their critical work to end domestic violence and support victims in our community, as well as the work of the Ramsey County Attorney's Office, Sheriff's Office, Community Corrections, Social Services and Public Health. The county is recognized as a national leader for its work on ending domestic violence and helping survivors. Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. One in three women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime, and more than 1,600 orders for protection are issued in Ramsey County each year.
