617 Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Buffalo Grove Since Outbreak

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Buffalo Grove has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, 617 people have contracted COVID-19 in Buffalo Grove since the outbreak began. That is an increase of 24 cases since Aug. 28. For further comparison, there was also an increase of 29 cases between Aug. 21-28. The Lake County Health Department reports there have been 14,772 confirmed cases in Lake County. That's an increase of 552 cases since Aug. 28. For further comparison, there was an increase of 563 cases between Aug. 21-28. In addition, there have been 450 deaths, marking an increase of 10 since Aug. 21. For further comparison, there was an increase of four deaths between Aug. 21-28. As of Friday, there have been 188 coronavirus-related cases in the Cook County portion of Buffalo Grove, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of eight cases since Aug. 28. For further comparison, there was also an increase of eight cases between Aug. 21-28. The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there have been 2,114 confirmed coronavirus cases in long-term care facilities in Lake County. There have been 319 deaths in these facilities. As of Thursday, 1,621 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 360 patients were in the ICU and 155 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 149,273 specimens for a total of 4,309,941.
