STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville Schools will have a remote-only education day on Oct. 16, the district announced. "We do not take this decision lightly, yet time is needed to continue our professional development with our staff that has been occurring since May, so that we can provide the best learning experience for all students, whether at school or at home," Superintendent Cameron Ryba said. Ryba received authority to make Oct. 16 a remote-only education day during the most recent Board of Education meeting. Strongsville students have been receiving a blend of remote education and in-person learning since September. Only K-5 students were set to be in-class on Oct. 16. Strongsville Middle School and Strongsville High School students were already scheduled to be at home on Oct. 16, so their schedule will not change. Preschool students are not in session that Friday. Ryba said building principals should be sending communications to families with details on an "asynchronous learning" program for Oct. 16.
