Strongsville Students In Quarantine After Positive COVID-19 Tests

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Three Strongsville students have tested positive for COVID-19, prompting dozens of other students to quarantine. According to the Strongsville Schools' COVID-19 dashboard, a single student at Muraski Elementary, Strongsville Middle School and Strongsville High School have tested positive for the virus. The district has asked 75 other students at the schools to quarantine after they were possibly exposed to the virus. "I know seeing active isolations/quarantines can be concerning, but we need to approach this school year with the mindset that we are going to have COVID cases," Superintendent Cameron Ryba said in an email to families. Here's how many students are quarantining at each school: Muraski — 10 studentsMiddle School — 39 studentsHigh School — 26 students "Our protocols are working and parents are properly and quickly reporting and collaborating with the district and the district is effectively communicating with the families in the applicable building, buses, sports teams, etc. We also have protocols for when we would close a classroom or building due to COVID prevalence/spread," Ryba said. The superintendent assured families that if collaboration continues smoothly, the district can keep its positive cases and isolated students low.
